Eugene Postolache

AREA DIRECTOR - MOLDOVA

Meet Eugene Postolache, a former IT student turned missionary who discovered his faith at the age of 19. His studies at the Technical University of Moldova, in the capital city of Chisinau, may have been in technology, but his passion was the game of basketball. Originally from Ungheni, Moldova, he found his calling to spread the message of Christ through his love for the sport. Traveling every week between Chisinau and his hometown, Eugene used his coaching skills to minister to others for three years during his time at college. His impact only grew after graduation, as he dedicated four years to growing the ministry in his local church.

In 2015, Eugene answered God's call once again, moving to Chisinau to join the Admirals Basketball Academy. But his journey didn't stop there. In June 2018, he found his forever teammate in life and in ministry when he married Nonna. Since then, they’ve added David (3) to their family and they eagerly await their next child coming in the Fall of 2023.

Eugene's heart beats to bring God's kingdom wherever he goes. He's passionate about sharing and teaching God's word, especially to the youth of Eurasia. Through the game of basketball, he wants to teach them the "rules of life" and help them become disciples of Jesus. He believes that coaching provides a special platform for building close relationships and making a lasting impact.

Leonid Stefanyshyn

AREA DIRECTOR - UKRAINE

Get to know Leonid Stefanyshyn, a basketball superstar with a passion for making a difference. From playing for the Ukrainian national basketball team and winning championships, to competing in multiple finals in Ukrainian and Georgian basketball leagues, Leonid has had an impressive career.

However, it was a life-changing moment at the age of 17 that truly shaped Leonid's journey. Inspired by David Robinson's testimony, Leonid discovered his own faith in God. From that point on, he dedicated himself to serving his teammates and coaches. Coming full circle, this humble attitude and willing heart earned him the prestigious "David Robinson" award in 2014.

After retiring as a professional player in 2019, Leonid felt a calling from God to make a difference in the lives of young people in Ukraine and Eurasia. He eagerly accepted the opportunity to join the Admirals Basketball Academy in Ukraine, where he now works tirelessly to have a positive impact on kids and teenagers.

Leonid's personal life has been equally blessed. In 2011, he married his beautiful wife Alla, and together they raise three wonderful boys: Luka, Naum, and Levan.

With unwavering focus and a desire to introduce young people to the same faith that brought him hope and purpose, Leonid Stefanyshyn is a true testament to the power of God's love and the transformative nature of basketball.
