OUR AMBASSADORS

Rostic Ciorbu

Hailing from Causeni, Moldova, Rostislav "Rostik" Ciorbu discovered his passion for basketball at the age of 12. But his life was profoundly impacted when he joined the Admirals Basketball Academy in Chisinau at 15. The Admirals played a pivotal role in guiding Rostik towards understanding Christ's teachings and how embracing His path leads to salvation and a renewed life. The spiritual growth he experienced at the Academy shaped him into a more effective leader, a better friend, a supportive teammate, and a diligent student. As Rostik puts it, "The most important thing that the Admirals gave me was - faith."

Recognizing the gift of support he received, Rostik seized the opportunity to give back to the community that shaped him. He began coaching children and leading bible studies, serving as a mentor to the younger generation at ABA. Rostik believes, "Our task as believers is to share our faith with others and help them grow just as Christ did for us."

Presently, Rostik is blessed to be studying in the United States, where he continues to mature his faith, influence others, and of course play basketball! His host family, the Ceccarellis, have supported Rostik for three years while he pursues a degree in Business Management and Exercise Science at Cornerstone University in Michigan.

Looking ahead, Rostik plans to continue serving the Admirals, drawing on the experience and education he receives in the US. He views basketball and the Admirals as powerful tools given by God to further His kingdom in the next generation.

Yarik Revazov

Born and raised in Chisinau, Moldova, Yarik Revazov's journey with Admirals Basketball Academy began in 2015 when he joined as a fifth grader. His involvement in the academy deepened beyond the game of basketball in 2017, as he began immersing himself in the spiritual and leadership activities being offered.

For the next two years, Yarik participated in numerous events and spiritual growth opportunities at the Academy. This immersion led him to welcome God's call to salvation and forge a deep relationship with Him. On September 15, 2019, Yarik continued his faith journey through baptism - a significant turning point in his life. Post-baptism, Yarik felt a renewed sense of purpose and a compelling desire to serve others.

Recognizing his potential and eagerness to lead, the Admirals honed his leadership skills and provided him with ample opportunities for service. In 2022, Yarik’s leadership growth was met with the opportunity to be part of the Admirals Ambassadors program.

In his senior year of high school, Yarik ventured overseas to continue his studies at the Washtenaw Christian Academy in the USA. However, he felt a divine calling to return to his roots in Moldova and serve his community at Admirals Basketball Academy.

Yarik’s passion lines up with that of Admirals Basketball Academy - using the game of basketball as a platform to spread the Gospel to younger players. He draws inspiration from his personal experiences and feels a strong responsibility to mentor the next generation as he was. His journey is a testament to how sports and faith can intertwine, creating a powerful means of community-building and spiritual growth.
